Buy Computer
Equipment

Get the best for the best prices
There are a number of things to consider when you
buy a computer or buy computer equipment. These include;
- what to buy
- types of ownership such as direct buying or
getting a computer lease
- how to buy
What to buy
What
to buy depends on what you need and what is available. If you have a
clear idea of what you need it is easier to determine what to buy.
You
should examine what you want to do with the computer and what you want
it to do for you. This will point you in the right direction.
The article Buy

with Confidence will provide you with guidance on determining what you
want to do with
the computer and will indicate what you need to buy to get it done.
When
buying hardware or software, the same approach is applicable. Review
what's available with your information sources. Once you basically know
what you want you can advance to the next step.
Types of ownership
The
most common form of ownership is sole proprietorship which means you
own it totally because you bought it outright. This form of ownership
requires the greatest initial outlay and people generally tend to keep
their purchased computers for as long as possible.
Some people
opt to lease a computer in order to pay less up front and to have an
option to frequently change their computers for the latest and greatest
equipment. The overall considerations of leasing are discussed by Daniel Gray and the financial
considerations of leasing are discussed by Crystal Levy
. In my opinion leasing for the sake of frequently changing to the
latest model will only work if it is easy to set up a new computer from
scratch. I have yet to find a method of smoothly and easily
transferring data and programs from one computer to another, so having
to do this often is not a great idea.
Once you've decided what you want to get, you have
a number of options of how to buy the item. This is discussed in detail
in the article about how
to buy a computer.
